A lucky summer day

An afternoon of last late summer. A very lucky day cause I got both fishes to take some pictures to and a friend without a rod but with a good camera beside me. I guess fishermen know what I'm talking about, taking pictures is always hard while fishing alone, especially when you are going to release your pray.

Un pomeriggio della scorsa estate inoltrata. Un giorno molto fortunato perchè ho avuto sia qualche pesce da fotografare sia un amico senza canna ma con una buona fotocamera accanto a me. Immagino i pescatori sappiano di cosa sto parlando, scattare foto è sempre difficile mentre si sta pescando da soli, specialmente quando si ha intenzione di liberare la preda.

A leerfish I released and a bluefish I took back home with me. In fact lately I had to revise my absolute catch & release policy...I just found extremisms are always to be avoided...

Una leccia rilasciata ed un serra che ho portato a casa con me. In effetti ultimamente ho dovuto riconsiderare la mia politica sul "catch & release assoluto"...mi sono reso conto che gli estremismi sono sempre da evitare...

Leerfish

Bluefish is the purpose of my summer fishing: it's the prey I chose my lures for and the one I expect to find at the end of my line when something attacks my lures.
Nevertheless even this summer some leerfishes decided to eat my baits...it's always a really happy surprise :) Nothing huge but some leerfishes big enough to make me enjoy the fight. Here they are, I released all of them:

 

 Il pesce Serra è l' obiettivo dell' estate: è la preda per la quale scelgo le mie esche e quella che mi aspetto di trovare all' altro capo della lenza quando recupero qualcosa che ha attaccato un mio artificiale.Anche quest' anno non è mancata tuttavia qualche leccia a sorpresa :) Nessun esemplare gigante ma qualche pesce grande abbastanza da farmi comunque divertire. Ho deciso dunque di raggruppare qui qualche cattura, tutte C&R :)

Their shapes are something extremely charming for me and give them a terrible strenght, this is slowly making me fall in love with them even if I've never caught a big example...just a matter of time XD

La loro forme sono qualcosa di estremamente accattivante per me e donano loro una forza tremenda, tutte caratteristiche che mi stanno facendo lentamente innamorare di questo pesce nonostante non ne abbia mai catturato un esemplare degno di nota...questione di tempo XD

Me in action

It's not very usual for me to fish with photographer-fishing mates, ready to catch on camera the "fighting" moments, the ones who come before the usual shots holding the fish with my hands. Thanks to my friends Daniele and Andrea now I have some shots that keep these moments alive. I like them very much and I want to share with you the ones I think are the best :)

Non capita spesso di avere a disposizione compagni di pesca-fotografi pronti a catturare i momenti del combattimento, quelli prima dell' usuale foto di rito con il pesce fra le mani. Grazie ai miei amici Daniele ed Andrea sono riuscito a mettere da parte alcune delle foto che immortalano proprio questi momenti.
A me piacciono un sacco ed ho deciso di caricare quelli che mi sembrano gli scatti migliori :)

I noticed my blog has readers all over the world so I've just decided to translate my articles, writing them both in italian and english ;)

Mi sono accorto che i miei lettori sono sparsi un po' in tutto il mondo quindi sì, ho appena deciso di tradurre i miei post e scriverli sia in italiano che in inglese ;)

Estate 2013

Quest' anno l' estate è iniziata un po' in ritardo per me...purtroppo quando ti decidi a farla con un po' di impegno ti rendi conto che l' università ti porta via un sacco di tempo -.-

Poche uscite dunque, tutte alla ricerca del serra, coi i long jerk minnow che, come al solito, sono gli attori principali delle mie pescate. In particolare ho riscoperto, in questo ultimo periodo, le qualità del Mommotti 190 che si sta rivelando un vero killer: molto buono nel lancio ed adescante in tutte le situazioni.

Purtroppo non riesco ancora a dare molta fiducia al topwater :( spero che in futuro qualche bella cattura mi faccia ricredere...

Un ringraziamento particolare va al mio amico Marco: come ogni anno oramai, ho spezzato la Falcon di turno e adesso pesco con la sua Premiere St. Croix; in altre circostanze ti direi "la tratterò come fosse la mia" ma forse in questo caso sarebbe poco azzeccato quindi mi limiterò ad un banale "Grazie mille" ;)
